Column Called "Sky Writing" in
Times and Union
Beginning in today's Times and Union, readers are
offered a new column of news and comment on local aviation, by
Times and Union newsman William Mollenhour.
The column will be written in non-technical terms for private
pilots and the enjoyment of people who do not fly and cannot
understand the technical jargon of aviation editors.
Called "Sky Writing," the new Times
and Union column will appear every other day, three times per
week on the sports page. First column today and for the next
four appearances will deal with the history of aviation in Kosciusko
county. Following that, will be regular columns of news of local
aviation interest.
Interested in airplanes as a hobby, the author
learned to fly seven years ago and holds a private pilot's certificate.
He describes himself as a "worse than average private pilot,"
who believes many people are interested in local aviation personalities
and the non-technical phases of it.
Your Times and Union now becomes
the first newspapers in this area to bring you a column devoted
to this new hobby and fledgling industry.
