Among the most appreciated readers of Sky Writing are the elderly folks. Many are the kind letters I've had from people whose birthdays total too many, but whose minds are young and flexible. They like flying and I like them.

Comes one of these beautiful, clear, calm Sunday afternoons, I want to give one of these venerable readers, or anyone designated by them, a free airplane ride over their home-town, farm or home. Let him see the glories of our county, feel the freedom of the air.

Who will get this ride? The oldest reader who writes Sky Writing within the next several weeks, may either take the ride or we'll give it to anyone he designates. Now then, if you believe you are the oldest person reading this little column, drop me a line. Heck, drop me a line anyway. I love letters.

If you don't want to ride yourself, name your son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter, friend or enemy. We'll take him. For this ride, we will carefully select a perfect day, a comfortable airplane and take you anyplace within reason, you wish to go. Is it a deal? Write Sky Writing today, give your name, age and address -- and what you think of the column. Let's take that free airplane ride.

Out on Municipal airport, Joe Carlin is progressing rapidly on the construction of six new hangars. You can see them from road 15 very easily as the framework looms above the immediate horizon.

The new hangars are being built, inter-connected in unit sections. They are placed on the private flying line, will some day be used exclusively for private planes. There will be units available, additional units, that is, to any plane owner who wants one.

The Warsaw Aero club is feeling its oats since the swell banquet last week. They now desire a distinctive emblem. An emblem which will do credit to their club and identify its members. Club President Stanley Arnolt has offered a $50 cash prize for the best design. Winner will be selected by impartial judges. Sharpen your pencils or crayons, work out an emblem. Turn it in to either Smith airport or Municipal airport. Winner will be announced June 1.

Hobart Creighton, candidate for governor, will address that unique organization known as the Ninety-Nines, at the Purdue university airport, Lafayette, on March 21. The Ninety-Nines is an organization of women pilots, has been in existence since November 2, 1929. First national president was Amelia Earhart.

Each 99'er is automatically a member of the National Aeronautics Association and many records have been nailed down by these pretty pilots.

They now have an auxiliary group known as the "Petticoat Club," where wives of pilots may join, come to meetings, get in on their husband's interests

Our good friend and old-time pilot, Mrs. Wayne (Helen House) Outcelt, of Rochester, is an enthusiastic 99'er, and will tell you all about the "Petticoat club" if you are interested.
